Frozen reflections
The freezing mirror lake of Silvaplana, photographed in a day of good weather conditions. On the background we see Silvaplana and the mountain Piz Albana, reflected in the lake.
Mirror freezing lakes are pretty rare, this phenomenon requires three conditions that should happen simultaneously: a temperature of less than -10°C for a long time, no snowfalls, no wind. The phenomenon happens with a periodicity of 10 years.
