Borromean rings
A three-components knot. The three threads are mutually untied (all the possible couples of components of the knot are untied), but the resulting knot isn't untied. Borromean rings can be disposed along the edges of an octahedron so that each component will coincide with one of the three "equatorial" squares of the octahedron.
