A flower of Plumbago coerulea, a creeper used as an ornamental plant. From the point of view of symmetry, this flower has a prismatic (three-dimensional) symmetry; a photograph like this, taken from the right point of view, evokes a dihedral symmetry of type D5.
The image appears in the book Il ritmo delle forme - The rhythm of the shapes.
