A wood carving
The drawing of the veins in this wenge-wooden sculpture of Tommaso Letteriello suggests the idea of foliation of a surface. In particular, this example recalls the foliation of the plane induced by a family of hyperboles xy=k. From the exhibition “Colours and smells of the wood” at the Biolab of the Museum of Natural History in Milan (April-May 2006).
